Pastor

Ottawa Presbyterian Church - Ottawa, OH

We are a healthy, financially stable, family oriented church looking for a strong spiritual leader with good preaching skills, who enjoys being around people, appreciates a wide variety of music and worship styles, loves noisy children, is community minded, has a wonderful sense of humor, is energetic, enjoys pastoral visits, has excellent communication skills with both individuals and crowds, is comfortable working with people of all ages, is organized, takes initiative, and is technologically savvy. We also look for our future spiritual leader to be strong at utilizing the gifts of the congregation as well as working with its weaknesses in order to best serve our mission to glorify God.

Our congregation is more than a gathering of peoples on Sunday morning - we are a strong, loving family. In times of tragedy and joy, we rely on each other for support. This is due in part to our small size. Some of our families have been here for many years while others are new. There is always a sense of belonging, which is truly the soul of our congregation. This leads us towards fulfilling Christ's mission for the church.

Central to our congregation’s vision for ministry is the continual strengthening of our individual faith by worship, prayer, bible study, music, Sunday school, and service.

OPC brings an array of musical talent and an appreciation for a variety of worship styles.

Our commitment to God and our community is a vital part of who we are.

Our congregation is blessed with many members who are very active in local organizations and agencies. When a need is perceived in our community, we have responded by bringing people together to accomplish a common goal, such as founding the local Habitat for Humanity following a major flood in 2007. Our youth volunteer alongside older members to develop a strong sense of mission and service at a young age.

"Who is God calling us to be?" We affirm that God has blessed us with resources, spiritual gifts, and talents that can be utilized to serve others. We live this vision through working in the Ottawa Food Pantry, Salvation Army, Council on Aging, Christmas gift boxes, and Operation Christmas Child.

Apply by emailing Lynne Hirzel at lhirzel@hirzel.com.

Pastor

Blue Mountain Church of God - Smithsburg, MD

The Blue Mountain Church of God, Smithsburg, Maryland, is seeking a part-time (25-30 hours a week) pastor. Established in 1909, the Blue Mountain Church of God is a member of the Eastern Regional Conference, Churches of God General Conference, Findlay, Ohio.

With an average attendance of 30, the church seeks a pastor who will be available for Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services, plan and execute special services, administer the ordinances of communion and footwashing quarterly, and visit the sick/homebound. The pastor will perform baptisms, baby dedications, weddings, and funerals. The candidate should have strong Biblical knowledge and be able and willing to counsel and reach into the community to make the presence of the Blue Mountain Church meaningful. The prospective candidate should have ministerial experience and have initiated ministry opportunities. A Bible College degree, Seminary degree, or completion of the Winebrenner Pastoral Training Institute with Ordination Certification, or the equivalent is required.

Interested candidates should send an electronic copy of a cover letter and resume, including at least three pastoral related references, to James Henneman at cvcandp@embarqmail.com (717-422-6205). Please do not contact the church directly. Resumes should be received by February 28, 2015.
