Distinctives and Delivery

Doctor of Ministry


-Increase leadership capacities for those  actively involved in ministry

-Provides further education for those  holding the M.Div. degree or its equivalent

-Personal and professional growth

-M.Div. degree or its equivalent prerequisite

-4 years of study (32 semester hours)

-Professional doctoral degree that integrates research skills, spiritual leadership, personal and professional development

-2 week-long intensive courses each year

Master of Divinity


-Comprehensive theological education

-For professional pastorate or specialized ministry

-As preparation for D.Min. or Ph.D. studies

-Bachelor’s degree prerequisite

-3 or 4 years of study (81 trimester hours)

-One day or two evenings per week format

Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling


-Meets the educational requirements of the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board allowing graduates to sit the licensure examination for Professional Counselors.

-Bachelor’s degree prerequisite

-2 years of full-time or 4 years of part-time study (69 trimester hours)

-CACREP Approved

Master of Arts in Family Ministry


-For pastoral and specialized ministry

-For pastoral counseling

-For chaplaincy ministry

-For lay ministry

-Bachelor’s degree prerequisite

-2 or 3 years of study (48 trimester hours)

Master of Arts in Practical Theology

-For pastoral and vocational ministry

-For those called to alternative ministry opportunities

-For those desiring seminary training while remaining in their local community

-Bachelor’s degree prerequisite

-4 years of study (60 trimester hours)

-3 specializations available

-33 hours composed of intensive courses (two week-long back-to-back in June, one weekend in October) and 27 hours of distance education (online)

Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies


-To meet basic educational requirements for pastoral training in some denominations (such as the Churches of God, General Conference)

-As preparation for graduate theological studies

-High school diploma/GED prerequisite

-4 years of full-time study (124 semester hours), 24 credits are taught by Winebrenner professors

-This degree is offered in collaboration with The University of Findlay

Pastoral Training Institute


Available in Findlay, OH and other locations in PA.

-For lay ministry

-To meet basic educational requirements for pastoral training in some denominations


-High school diploma/GED prerequisite

-4 year part-time program totaling 50 hours

-For those 25 years of age or older without a college education who desire pastoral training
