Biblical Studies Institute
The Biblical Studies Institute program (BSI) is designed for laypersons desiring to expand their biblical foundation while they seek further clarity of God’s call in their life. BSI students are at least 21 years of age and are active members of a local church. No prior college preparation is necessary for students enrolling in the BSI, but students with post-secondary academic work may be exempt from certain courses.  This program is unaccredited, but can be used toward the completion of the Pastoral Training Institute program (see below).

Discipleship Studies Institute
The Discipleship Studies Institute program (DSI) is designed for laypersons desiring to expand their own discipleship and their ability to disciple others while they seek further clarity of God’s call in their life. DSI students are at least 21 years of age and are active members of a local church. No prior college preparation is necessary for students enrolling in the DSI, but students with post-secondary academic work may be exempt from certain courses.  This program is unaccredited, but can be used toward the completion of the Pastoral Training Institute program (see below).

Pastoral Training Institute

The Pastoral Training Institute program is a  4-year, 50 credit-hour diploma program designed for men and women over the age of 25 who want to expand their theological knowledge, but do not currently hold a bachelors degree.  (This program is unaccredited.)

Findlay Campus PTI Program (open to all denominations):

  • Open to qualifying students from any denomination that are over the age of 25 and hold a high school diploma.
  • The program consists of 14 three credit courses that comprise 42 credits of classroom instruction
  • The Mentored Ministry courses are one credit courses that occcur each trimester.  As part of these courses every student is assigned a mentor for support, guidance, accountability and dialogue on his or her ministry and personal formation.
  • Four-year rotation cycle of courses.
  • Classes will meet at the WTS Findlay, Ohio campus.  
  • Semester courses will meet for at least 12 sessions (2.5 hours of instruction at each session).

* The Eastern Regional Conference PTI Program (open to CGGC denominational members located in the ERC):

  • Open to qualifying Church of God, General Conference students over the age of 25 that presently live or serve in the Eastern Regional Conference
  • The program consists of 14 three credit courses that comprise 42 credits of classroom instruction
  • The Mentored Ministry courses are one credit courses that occcur each trimester.  As part of these courses every student is assigned a mentor for support, guidance, accountability and dialogue on his or her ministry and personal formation.
  • Four-year rotation cycle of courses.
  • WTS modules will meet for a weeklong course at Camp Yolijwa, Doubling Gap Center, Pennsylvania.
  • Hybrid modules combine two weekends of instruction plus directed study projects.
  • WTS intensives will meet for one week at the Findlay campus.
  • Semester courses will meet for at least 12 sessions (2.5 hours of instruction at each session) at a south-central PA location.

*  Classes offered in Pennsylvania will not lead to college credit and may not be applied toward a degree. Approval by the Pennsylvania Department of Education is for non-credit coursework only. The courses will only be offered at the invitation of and with support of denominational affiliate organizations.
