New Testament Position Description: The Board of Trustees, Administration, and Faculty in a shared governance process will appoint to a rolling-term contract a full-time instructor at the initial rank of assistant professor. The position involves teaching 18 credit hours (6 courses) in a three-trimester academic year, each trimester consists of 12 weeks with an additional week focused upon a seminary-wide one-day Theological Summit. Teaching overloads beyond the contract standard are negotiated according to faculty workloads and availability. Each faculty member serves on one administrative committee which usually meets on a monthly basis. Faculty members maintain office hours to provide staff and student accessibility. Courses usually occur on a Tuesday mid-day, afternoon, or evening, or a Thursday evening schedule. Courses have 12 sessions of 150 minutes in a block delivery system. There are some exceptions with one-week intensive courses in the master’s and doctoral programs.
Current New Testament Course Offerings:
New Testament Foundations, Greek Grammar, Greek Exegesis, Narrative Criticism of the New Testament, Synoptic Gospels, Studies in Paul, Gospel of John, Book of Revelation, Spirituality in Luke, Pastoral Epistles, Hebrews and General Epistles, Colossians, Ephesians, Independent Research in New Testament, and doctoral courses in New Testament studies.
